VCN continues to receive many enquiries for INSET training days at schools around the country. If time is tight, then schools receive a one and half hour ‘Introduction to voice care’. However, many schools are realising the benefits of providing a longer morning or afternoon session, where the whole teaching staff can additionally learn about how to ‘use their voices’ to motivate, inspire and manage the pupils in the classroom (and elsewhere in the school!)
Yvonne Morley ( VCN Tutor and Trustee, based in London) has recently provided INSET training at a number of Schools in the London Borough of Brent, following a successful pilot workshop for the Local Authority. These included a range of faith schools – The Convent of Jesus and Mary, the Islamaia Girls School, Our Lady of Lourdes girls school, as well as Alperton College.
An Inset morning was recently delivered to the Rosewood Primary School in Middlesborough to the 26 Teaching Staff. The Headteacher, Lesley Sinclair said afterwards ‘It was excellent. It fitted well with our focus on staff training and setting high standards of behaviour within a caring school environment’. She is recommending the workshop to other Head Teachers in her network cluster.
